The access is along tarmac roads with the exception of a short uneven part as you climb high up to look down on the iconic Sax castle, the town and the whole valley but the most incredible views are to the rear of the property that can be viewed from a choice of outside relaxing and dining areas.

You enter by remote-controlled gates along a beautiful driveway that opens up to the villa and parking areas that can´t help but meet your expectations or rise above them. As you leave your car the first thing you notice is the peace and tranquillity, yet this is not remote as there are neighbours but you are completely unaware of them when you are at the villa.

Where to go first? The temptation is to explore the grounds...all 4400m2 of them!. Up a few steps, you are on the terrace of a most beautiful private swimming pool and a terrace that offers different areas to sunbathe and relax. The pool has a pump house to keep the pump and filter discreetly out of sight, almost everything has been subject to thought and consideration of how to make the very best of everything. There is a gate to the left that opens up to the most surprising and lovely sunken garden with a play area for the children and loads of garden areas to relax in, from there you can access the mountains to the rear if you fancy some hiking or if you have eaten too much from the BBQ.

To the rear of the property, there is another lovely terrace with a shaded area and access to the villa and to the Summer kitchen and the greenhouse, oh yes there is a greenhouse, as well as the owners, have really enjoyed their gardening but if gardening is not your thing there are a good number of Spanish gardeners who work very competitively and would love the opportunity to take care of all the garden areas.

Moving onto the right-hand side of the villa there are more fruit trees and you can´t miss the purpose-built, fully fenced, regulation-size tennis court which also makes a great five-a-side court or basketball/badminton court. A tennis court of this standard would cost in the region of 40,000€ if you wanted to install one. Moving on beyond the tennis court there is another parking area where a double garage stands that is built so it can be adapted easily into a 2 bedroom self-contained apartment, it would also make a superb workshop.

Finally, the villa! You enter from the parking area into a well-sized conservatory which is wonderful for capturing the winter sunshine and reduces heating bills drastically, in fact, the house runs very inexpensively indeed. From the conservatory, the front door opens to a quite lovely open lounge/diner/kitchen with a feature fireplace at the far end of the room and there is also air conditioning that practically runs throughout the property. There is one double bedroom that can be accessed from here and then three more bedrooms have a hallway separating them from the living areas. So, through to the hallway where there are two family bathrooms as well as the three double bedrooms, all bright and airy with lots of natural light.

Now we have the other surprise, the guest room. From the front of the property, you can see a remote-controlled white shuttered garage door but after pressing the button the shutter raises to reveal sliding glass doors and behind these a really lovely and very neat double bedroom with an en-suite shower room which any guest would be delighted to stay in.

Sax is popular with many Spanish and international residents because it is far enough inland to be “inland" yet it is only 30 minutes to Alicante Airport and 35 minutes to the beach. Access is by the A31 motorway (Alicante to Madrid) road which runs just outside of the town. Additionally Sax is just five minutes away from the AVE train station at Villena from where you can take the high-speed train from Alicante to Madrid. Sax is dominated by its 13th-century castle but apart from the history it offers all modern amenities including shops, restaurants, supermarkets, schools, medical centre etc.
